Biography

Marilyn R. Wickstrom is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with a degree in Art Education. She also attended Olivet College in Olivet. Michigan and the University of South Florida in Tampa. Recently retired from over 27 years of teaching gifted education, she has found time to pursue her artistic talents.

Her love of the impressionistic period is reflected in the effects of light in her landscape oil paintings. She is a member of the Dunedin Fine Arts Center and the Sterling Society, and has taught oil painting and the art of bread dough throughout the country for over 30 years.

She is a published author and has had articles published in the St. Petersburg Times and The Christian Science Monitor. Married for over 50 years to her husband, Dave, they are both active board members of the Safety Harbor Kiwanis club and mentor and tutor at nearby schools. They have two sons and two  grandchildren, and are active in their local church.
